What is Official Information?
Official information means any information held by a local
authority. Section Five of LGOIMA states that information shall be
made available unless there is a good reason for withholding it.
Personal information means any official information about an identifiable individual. Individuals have the right to view everything pertaining to themselves. Council, however has very few personal files.
Requests to access official information can be made verbally or in writing.
Unauthorised attempts to upload information or change information on this service are strictly prohibited.

The Website has links to many other agencies. In a few cases we link to private organisations, with their permission. Once you link to another site, you are subject to the privacy and security policies of the new site.
Far North District Council does not have control over the policies or content of government or private sites outside of Far North District Council which we link to for public convenience.
